Every month, the CIT Council, a student run organization, meets to discuss about upcoming events, themes, and overall how to make the CIT an educational and enjoyable experience. This month, with school just starting, we have decided to mainly focus on improving our communication within all grades of the center. With this idea in mind, we plan to implement a three pronged strategy:
The Center for Information Technology (CIT) is a center in which students learn the fundamentals of technology. During a student’s time in the CIT, students will learn the basics as well as more advanced material. These skills will help them to succeed in every career whether it is based in IT or another field. Students also interact with outside organizations through projects and internships which give them experience for careers in their future. In addition, not only does the CIT teach students the technological aspects such as programming, but it also teaches students how to work on project teams, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
The Center for Information Technology is preparing the next generation of Information Technology leaders and innovators by providing a rigorous course of study in Information Technology (IT). This program lays a solid IT foundation by instilling students with knowledge and skills that they can utilize in real-world IT experiences within the community.
The Center for Information Technology will be recognized locally, regionally, and nationally as an innovative leader in preparing students for college education and careers in Information Technology and computer science. All students will have a basic understanding of essentials needed for the them to succeed in ever-changing field of Information Technology.
