What is Interact?
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club that gives high school students the opportunity
to participate in fun, meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and
making new friends.
Who may join Interact?
Any student who is not a member of Key Club can be a member of Interact as long as they are willing to complete the required community service hours. There are no GPA requirements to join. Annual club dues are $10.00 per member.
How much community service is required?
Interact members must complete at least 10 hours of community service each semester
to remain a member of the club, of which at least 2 should qualify as seal hours. The minimum of 20 total hours (including at least 8 seal hours) for the school year must include working on
at least ONE project per semester selected as a focus project by the club.
When are club meetings?
Club meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month and members are expected to attend BOTH meetings. Meetings are held after school in room 107. Confirmation of conflicting school-related activities must be sent to Mr. Texler by a teacher or coach in advance of the related absence. Conflicts that will cause more than 1 absence must be pre-approved. More than 3 meeting absences without an approved excuse will result in dismissal from the club.
