Our Mission
The Peer Helpers of Deep Run hope to make all current and prospective students feel comfortable in the school environment by encouraging, inspiring, and influencing our peers positively. We will address needs by providing school-wide events and being avaliable to assist students.
What is a Peer Helper?
A positive role model
Someone who helps others during times of transition or stress
A student ambassador
Someone who Is sensitive to the needs of others
Someone who accepts and appreciates differences among peers
What do Peer Helpers Do?
Peer Helpers:
Are available for ALL students to talk to
Serve as student ambassadors
Welcome new students to Deep Run
Assist with School-wide Bully Prevention
Attend Leadership Conferences
Peer Helper Expectations:
- Participate in 16 to 20 hours of training- The primary training is in August
- Attend monthly meetings and peer helper activities
-Fill out and turn in an application by the deadline (Spring)
- Set a good example for peers
- Maintain good standing in the school and community
- Pay $5 dues
