The 2009 Eagles finished the regular season with wins over key rivals Deep Run and Douglas Freeman. The Eagles won three of their last five games and four of their final seven games to finish 5-5 overall (4-3 district). Godwin's defense was key in the win over Freeman as it stymied the Rebel offense inside the 10 yard line five times. In the win over Deep Run, the Eagles blocked a punt for a touchdown, kicked a 29yard field goal, and returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the win. The Eagle defense was instrumental in the strong finish. David Caravati and Jordan Kocen led a unit that played inspired football in the final two victories.
