The following are topics that have been essay questions on admissions applications to colleges and universities across the nation.  To prepare for the writing SOL, you will choose one topic and write a composition.  Remember to keep your paper focused, use action verbs, vary sentences types and beginnings, have a topic sentence for each paragraph, use strong vocabulary, etc.

2.  Write about a life experience that has influenced your personal growth.

3.  Discuss some issue of personal, local, or national concern and its importance.
