The Golden
Rule of 109
My most important rule applies to all of you AND myself. That rule
is MUTUAL RESPECT. I expect you to treat me with respect at all times;
I will treat you with respect as well.
Preparation
Bring a pen or pencil and binder notebook to class
every day. Please keep a well organized notebook or create a folder
on your computer labeled English 10. Your notebook or folder should
include the following sections: Vocabulary, Literature, Grammar,
and Writing. You also should bring your laptop and whatever textbooks
or novels we are using in class. DO NOT bring any food, drink, or
gum into the classroom. Finally, you are expected to be on time to
class.
Homework
Bring in all homework assignments on the day that they are due. There
are NO excuses. I do not accept late homework--even for partial credit.
Make-up
Work
You are responsible for making up all missed work. If you are absent
when a large assignment is due (one in which you know the due date in advance),
you are expected to walk in with your work on the first day you are back
at school. All tests and quizzes are to be made up within two days
of your absence. You must make an appointment with me personally.
It will be your responsibility to sign up on the calendar within my classroom.
If you do not make up work within two days of your absence, you will receive
a zero. You may make up work before school, after school, or during
a study hall.
Computer
Rules
Please uphold the following policies regarding use of your computer:
1. You will only have your laptop open and turned on when you are
instructed to do so.
2. You will not be on the internet unless instructed to do so.
3. There will be NO instant messaging or e-mailing permitted at any
time during class.
4. Please be respectful of the needs of others. Not everyone
may be at the same level of experience.
5. Have fun as we continue to embark upon this new opportunity.
