Each nine weeks your grade will be earned by successful performances on homework, quizzes, tests, writing assignments, and your journal.

HOMEWORK
    Homework will represent 20% of the marking period grade and will be entered in the garbed as follows:
            100%    All of the assigned work has been completed.
             50%    More than HALF, but not ALL of the assigned work is complete.
             0%       Less than half of the assigned work has been completed.

QUIZZES
  Quizzes will represent 30% of the marking period grade.  Quizzes may consist of vocabulary quizzes as well as reading quizzes on the assigned literature.

TESTS AND JOURNAL
  Tests and writing assignments will represent 40% of the marking period grade.  Tests may be in many different forms, including projects, presentations, take-home tests, and essays.  Journals will be collected either once or twice during the nine weeks.

WRITING PORTFOLIO
  You will keep a writing portfolio during each nine weeks.  This will consist of prewriting exercises, drafts, peer and teacher responses, and final drafts.  Your writing portfolio will represent 10% of the marking period grade.
