Each nine weeks your grade will be earned by successful performances on writing exercises, creative writing pieces, peer responses, class participation, reading assignments, and miscellaneous assignments.  Students will frequently be given rubrics, which will be used in evaluating major assignments.  The relative weight of course components is as follows:

WORKSHOP
    50%        Participation in daily assignments, drafts, peer response

PORTFOLIO
  30%        A portfolio of polished pieces will be turned in each nine weeks.

PARTICIPATION
   10%        Participation can be earned by reading your writing, submitting work to Reverse Images, as well as giving feedback to peers.

JOURNAL
     10%     Journals will be collected either once or twice during the nine weeks.
