Your Assignment
As hard as it is to believe the candidates for the 2008 Presidential election are already lining up. It is the first election in the last century where a sitting President or Vice-President are not running. So it’s a wide open field and many people have thrown their hat into the ring.
Each group is being assigned one candidate. You are to research your assigned candidate. Each group will be responsible for generating the following about their candidate:
1) a candidates issues table with the following 4 major issues:
Use the link to the template to create your table. All candidate tables will be combined into one to create a chart with all the candidate's information.
a. Crime
b. Economy
c. Iraq
d. Education
2) create a candidate promo / ad to present to the class
a. This ad can be done with either Windows Movie Maker or Windows Power
Point
b. It should be between a minute and five minutes in length
c. It should include at least one picture of the candidate
d. It should mention one issue / or reason to vote for your candidate
3)
a speech
a. This should be given in the first person
b. It should be a speech encouraging the public (class) to vote for
you
c. Between 1-3 minutes
d. Dressed appropriately for the speech
One person is the political strategist, one the campaign manager and one person is the media consultant.
Responsibilities are as follows;
Political strategist will research the four major issues.
The Campaign Manager will work on creating the speech and assist the strategist with research.
The Media Consultant will create the promo / ad with the aid of the other two members of the group.
