 Geometry Focus: Relationships between Figures The student will compare and contrast the following quadrilaterals based on properties: parallelogram, rectangle, square, rhombus, and trapezoid HCPS Course 2 Curriculum Guide
 Essential Knowledge and Skills Compare and contrast attributes of the following quadrilaterals: parallelogram, rectangle, square, rhombus, and trapezoid. Identify the classification(s) to which a quadrilateral belongs, using deductive reasoning and inference. Essential Understandings Why can some quadrilaterals be classified in more than one category? Every quadrilateral in a subset has all of the defining attributes of the subset. For example, if a quadrilateral is a rhombus, it has all the attributes of a rhombus. However, if that rhombus also has the additional property of 4 right angles, then that rhombus is also a square.
