Shaygne Moss (Wilder Middle School) is a regional winner in this year’s Apangea March Madness Contest!  Shaygne successfully completed 67 Threads of Apangea Math (without reenrollment in any of the threads!) and is ranked 8th out of the top 100 students!  Shaygne wins her choice of a Nintendo Wii gaming system or an iPod Touch!

In addition, please congratulate Tanbirul Islam (Tuckahoe Middle School) as he has placed in the top 100 students during this year’s Apangea March Math Madness contest.  Tanbirul successfully completed 51 Threads of Apangea Math without reenrollment! 

Both are to be commended for the amount of work they have accomplished.  Fantastic job!

It was a fight to the finish but only one team was victorious - the All-Star Apangea Blue Team is this year's championship team! The winning Apangea team consisted of students across the country and included Adrian Ferguson from Wilder Middle School. He received a $10 Best Buy gift card and was recognized on the opening screen of the Apangea website! Way to go, Adrian!

Becky Sievert’s MATHCOUNTS teams at Moody Middle School competed on Saturday, February 13th.  The team consisting of Kevin Yuan (team captain), Grant Broussard, Kenny Xu, and Leon Zhan won first place in the Richmond Chapter! This is the 2nd year Moody has won the chapter competition. Individually, Kevin placed second in the chapter and second on the countdown round, Grant placed fifth in the chapter and Kenny placed seventh in the chapter.  The team will be going to the state competition on Saturday, March 20th, at Dominion VA Power! Good luck!

The results for the High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling (HiMCM) Contest last November are out and Godwin High School fared exceptionally well. Godwin entered seven teams and received the following results.
