Lesson 4-4: Proving Triangles Congruent (AAS, HL)

Objective:

SOL G.6: The student, given information in the form of a figure or statement, will prove two triangles are congruent, using algebraic and coordinate methods as well as deductive proofs.

  1. Construct a right Δ congruent to the given right Δ.

  2. Using the circle tool tool icon, construct a circle with a radius of the size of the "leg" and center at B.

  3. Using the intersection tool tool icon, construct the intersection of the circle with the vertical ray.

  4. Now construct another circle with a radius of the size of the "hypotenuse" and center at the intersection point in step 3.
