Lesson 7-3: Special Right Triangles

Objective:

SOL G.8: The student will solve real-world problems involving right triangles by using properties of special right triangles.

    Given: ΔABC is equilateral.

  1. Construct a 30-60-90 triangle within the equilateral triangle.

  2. Using the perpendicular tool , click on segment BC and then point A.

  3. Using the intersection tool , click on the intersection of the perpendicular with segment BC. Consider this as point D.

  4. Using the hide tool , click on the perpendicular line.

  5. Using the segment tool , create the three sides of ΔABD.
