8.15 The student will solve two-step inequalities in one variable, using concrete materials, pictorial representations, and paper and pencil.

Directions

  • Use the sliders to graph an inequality.
  • 1. Use the black slider to select an open or closed circle. The OPEN circle excludes the value as a solution and the CLOSED circle includes the value as a solution.
  • 2. Determine the greatest or least value of the solution. Use the Pivot slider to locate the point. TIP: Click on slider point and use arrow on keyboard to move value.
  • 3. Determine the solutions of the inequality by shading in the correct direction on the number line. Use the Side slider to show these solutions.
