My name is Mercury. I was named after a God.

You used to find me in a thermometer rod.

But that has all changed because of my poisonous state,

One swallow of me and it could be too late.

          Mercury Poem

I am silver-colored; a transition metal is my label.

If you want to find me, I’m number 80 on the table.

I can be found in Spain, Italy, and in fatty fish,

You’ll get a lot of me if tuna sushi is your dish.

I am able to conduct electricity and heat

I’m a liquid at room temperature – isn’t that neat?

I am now a weatherman where I like to report temperatures.  I am extremely accurate with my weather forecasts. On the weekends I am a mail messenger.  I also am fascinated with the moons of the planet Mercury.  The only bad thing about my personality is that I am very hot tempered.
