    Aluminum’s name comes from the Latin word alumen.  In 1825 Aluminum was discovered by Hans Christian Oersted. 

Aluminum is  a very lightweight metal that tears very easily.  It is used in bottles and cans, aluminum foil, and sometimes even cars.  Aluminum makes up about 8% of the Earth!  Aluminum is used in anything were lightweight metal is needed.  Sometimes they enhance the aluminum to make it stronger.
