A Poem By: Me
Bromine is used across the nation
It can be used for water purification
It is also a fire retardant for plastics
And was discovered in 1826
France is where it was found
Occurring in sea water in compounds
It’s electrochemical equivalent is 2.9812 g/ amp. hrs.
And causing tears is one of its powers
It targets organs like the respiratory system, eyes, and skin
Through inhalation and ingestion

My Job
When I grow up I want to be a firefighter and a doctor. Firefighters help stop and prevent fires and so does bromine. Products containing bromine are sometimes used as fire retardants. Some bromine-containing compounds were historically used as sedatives. However, these drugs are for the most part no longer found on the market in the United States.
