Martin Luther King Jr. spoke out when he saw that people like Rosa Parks were not being treated fairly.  He was a pastor who led marches and gave speeches for equal rights. 2  Using peaceful means instead of violence, he helped bring about changes in the laws. 3  We celebrate his contributions on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in February.1
