Lesson 1: Introduction

Assignment: Download the software and install it onto your computer.
Time: 30 minutes

Download and Installation!

Before getting started, you will need to download and install the software onto your computer.

Very Important! Staff development has informed me that the only teachers who have access to Exam View licenses are 6, 7, and 8 grade Social Studies, US & Va. Government, Spanish 1 & 2, Foundations of Spanish 7 & 8, Science 6, and middle & high school math teachers. I have temporary licenses that you can use while taking this course but you will need to remove ExamView from your computer when you complete it. If you want a permanent copy of ExamView for your computer, contact your specialist and request one.

If you do not get a licensed version of ExamView, is your responsibility to remove the program from your computer so the county (and yourself) will not get into licensing troubles. You do not need to remove any files that you create throughout this course. Sorry about the inconvenience but it is the best that I could do!

How do I get the software?

Step 1: Connect to the Staff Development server

If you are working at school, you must be connected via your ethernet cable. If you are at home, connect to the internet using an Internet Service Provider (such as AOL). Warning...Downloading the software at home may take a little while!

Go to Go | Connect to Server

Type staffdev.henrico.k12.va.us in the address box and click Connect.

When you get to the next screen, click on the Guest button and then click Connect. You do not need to enter a login or password.

Click on the Online Course volume to highlight it and click OK.

Step 2: Locate the Drop Box on the server
The staff dev server (Online Course) will mount on your desktop. Double click on it to access your files if it doesn't open automatically.

After you double click on the Staff Dev server icon, click on my folder (tyleres) and the click on Public folder.

Drag the ExamView Pro folder to your computer. Once complete, you are ready to roll!
