The L. Douglas Wilder Middle School Band Program serves students in grades 6-8 with varying levels of musical experience. Our beginning Cadet Band is open to 6th and 7th grade students who have no experience reading music or playing musical instruments in a band. Students with some experience belong to our Concert Band, an intermediate level group designed to improve musical skills. Our most experienced students enroll in the Symphonic Band. Our symphonic band students represent Wilder Middle School at county and district events, serving as ambassadors to our larger school and musical communities.
