The Assignment

1. View the Video Lectures for this module. You may find it helpful to download, print, and complete the "Guided Notes" as you view these.

2. Download and save the Module 8 Core Questions. Answer the questions as you read each section of the Core. This assignment is worth 60 points. Complete and turn in to the the dropbox function in the "HCPS-SchoolSpace" interface.

Part 2 - Download and save this mini web-quest comparing Booker T. Washington and WEB DuBois! When complete, turn it in for 20 points.

3. Download and save the Module 8 Reading Assignment. Complete the questions as you learn the Core content and complete the e-Text readings. Once complete, turn in your assignment to the dropbox function in the "HCPS-SchoolSpace" interface. This assignment is worth 60 points. (10 points per page)

4. Blog Topic: Look at this cartoon drawn by Thomas Nast, titled "Worse Than Slavery". Explain the symbols used that would lead Nast to believe that the situation for African-Americans after the Civil War was actually worse.
